FAQ

What is the difference between granite and marble?
Granite is harder, more dense, more scratch and heat resistant than marble because it was formed by extreme heat and pressure from deep inside the earth’s core.  In comparison, marble was formed from the sediments under the seabed which make marble react differently to various household chemicals and conditions.
How do I clean granite countertops?
The best method for cleaning granite is to use dish detergent and warm water.  Never use chemicals or abrasives to clean granite.
Can I set a hot pot directly on my granite countertops?
Yes, heat from a frying pan will not cause any harm to your granite countertop.
Does granite stain?
In general, no.  However, all stone is porous to some extent and may show a dark spot for a few minutes once a liquid form substance is wiped away.  Unsealed granite can absorb stains such as oil, but there are cleaning solutions available to remove an oil stain.
Can I cut on my granite countertop?
Yes, but granite may ruin your knife blades quickly.  It is always best to cut or chop on a cutting board.
Can granite be damaged, chipped or cracked?
A high impact blow to a granite countertop with a hard object such as a hammer will damage granite.
Can damaged, chipped or cracked granite be repaired?
Yes, a crack or chip in granite can be repaired and resealed with a mixture of epoxy and ground up chips of granite followed by light polishing.
Will I have a seam in my granite countertop?

Do granite seams show?
